I recently upgraded from NT4 to Win 2000 when I started AREV the splash screen appears but before the first dot the message 'RTP27' Line 1. B12 File has not been opened. repeated displays.

AREV was working before the upgrade. We have since found that if the NLM on the server is stoped AREV starts without problems. Start the NLM and the problem is back. The user account has valid access as it will work in win95 or NT4.

David,

Try setting FILES=200 in CONFIG.NT and reboot the workstation.

I have the same problem with NLM 5 and Win2000 (Novell Client 4.7) with Arev 3.12

Config=200 does not work at all.

Is anyone in Revelation doing something about this ?

I have read many posting about this but no satisfactory answer!

David,

I am just curious. When I do not load ipxtsr, I can run Arev. But the station id is blank. that may be the problem. How is it in your environment ?

Rudhy,

I have the same as you.

However I found that if the NLM on the server is stopped arev will work with the LHIPXTSR. Unfortunatly I am not at liberty to check the station ID with the NLM stopped.

As I understand it Novell 5 uses its own variety of TCP/IP as a protocol. To run the TSR you will need IPX loaded as well. I assume this is the case?

It seems to me that you are running out of DOS memory. The stats you show are low, even without the IPX TSR.

Could you run MEM /D/P and print out each screen and either scan it to email or fax it? Perhaps there's something in memory that we can do something about relocating or removing.

I show almost the same on my MEM, except I've got 621K available. Do you have the Netware drivers loading in high memory (LOADHI)?

Also, try turning off VIDEO RAM cache in the machine hardware setup; leave the VIDEO BIOS cache turned on; that should leave more memory in the 0Cxxxx range free.

You problem is almost certainly that you are running out of memory, which is why not having the IPX TSR running allows your system to run.

Please let me know if this works (or if it doesn't).

No luck still the same.

I have been told that this error is occuring before revboot is loaded because the splash screen has not shown the first dot which is linked to the loading of revboot.
