Hello there,

One of my clients is getting this message when logging into the application after the 2nd dot (or at any rate, when they are dumped to the dos prompt, there are two dots). They have two users who are able to log in successfully and I'm finding out what's different about these two users.

They are on NT Servers, using MicroSoft Networking with NetBUIE and TCP/IP protocols installed and do not have the NT service pack–although they are pursuing that acquisition now.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to trouble-shoot this?

TIA,

Maggie

Is that the exact error message text? How is it displaying, in an ARev message or as text?

Yes, this is the exact error message text (without the quotes). It displays as text, not as an AREV message.

Let's see. When you execute arev.exe, and the REVLOMSG goes up, then you have the dots . . . Then, it puts this message on the 24th or 25th line then scrolls up one leaving you at the dos prompt:

Error in Clear Select to SYSOBJ.

T:]

The user never gets into the application at all.

I've gotten a response back that all users are on Windows NT 4.0 workstations, all but one are on token-ring, the other on ethernet. They have been functioning this way without NT Service for a while, but are now pursuing that to optimize performance (if not also to clear this problem).

Thanks.

Maggie
