Hiya,

I am doing manual sorting on an edit table with a separate edit table for the headings to allow me to have double click on headings for sorting and body for other functions.

However, I cannot work out how to change the heading to display an up/down arrow to indicate the sort. I have tried the style settings (16384, 32768) but this doesn't appear to work.

Version 7.2.1 currently, upgrading to 8.0.7 in the near future.

Anyone any ideas,

TIA,

Simon

Hiya,

I have got somewhere here with messing around with the SortedCol property on the edit table, but the problem I have is that if I am using the headings only edittable for the double-click to do the sort then as there is no data in that edit table then the 'arrow' is not displayed in the heading. The reason for having the separate heading is for date sorting - I obviously need to sort the data on a hidden column in order for this to work correctly, but then the 'arrow' does not display in the correct column heading.

Is there a way to fool the edit table to thinking it has data in it ??

Regards,

Simon

Simon,

I found that the "SORTEDCOL" property for the edittable will work but only on Oconv'd data. Check here for code to make this work propertly http://openinsight.wetpaint.com/page/RGD+EditTable+Sort

You might want to check out SRP's OLE controls. I use them and adding this feature was a snap. I use a pair of tables in all cases - one for raw data, that OI can read/write without messing with conversions and a paired SRP OLE table that is displayed - click on any header to sort (can be stopped on any individual table/column), double click to sort. Automatically adds the arrows. Plus quite a few other pretty handy features.

Simon,

Let me echo that we also use SRP EditTable. Here's an example showing the arrow in a sorted column and the direction. The SRP's OLEs are well documented and they are always ready to clarify.

Thanks all,

I'll have a look at that code thaks John, I have managed to get it working as I wanted by various little work arounds, but if there is a simpler method then I will look at that as well.

Many thanks again,

Simon
