Is HR-1 a supported product?

If so, which version(s) if any have been certified Y2K compliant?

If not, is any other vendor currently supporting it?

Thanks!

I have had at least one site request my Y2K scan software for their HR-1 application. I can only assume from this that it is either no longer supported or that some versions are not supported.

If you wish to know more about Y2K and Arev, check out our web site at:

HR-1 was discontinued years ago. Ceridian marketed Ensemble which was an upgraded HR-1 until a couple of years ago and it is still supported by Ceridian and my company (among others).

Sorry, hit done before finishing… HR-1 isn't close to Y2k. Ensemble's current version is.

Can you mention any specific examples?

HR-1 is still supported by Phoenix Solutions in our office, onsite, and via modem. Ceridian has authorized us as an HR-1 business partner and recently requested we take over HR-1 support.

HR-1 Y2k compliant by the fact that AREV is basically Y2k compliant. The screens and dictionaries can be modified to display a 4-digit year but the system understands that jan 1, 2000 is 1 day after Dec 31, 1999. Call our office at (908) 272-8889 to discuss how we can assist you with support.

Victor:

HR-1 still uses 2 digit date conversions throughout both in dictionaries and in many BP's. There is also code which grabs the 2 digit year off an Oconv'd date to perform calculations.

To see examples, just look for date entries in the EMP dict and grab a few BP's scanning for dates.

Just because dictionaries are defined to display 2 digit years does not make it noncompliant, unless that is specifically made as a requirement. As long as calculations using the dates work correctly, there's no reason not to use 2 digit years. So the challenge remains to show a specific case where a calculation fails. There was a time worked calculation that caused problems for us, but it was not standard HR-1 code.

Victor is correct…

Ceridian in fact released a Y2K patch to (as I recall) two dictionary items that were a little buggy. Other than that, it is absolutely compliant, unless you have introduced non-compliant custom code of your own.

Anyone running it on ARev 3.1X out there?
