I have included in our standard application format some functions that might not be supported in the runtime environment (such as fixing GFEs).

Which variable can tell me which type of licensing is being used? (runtime, DRSDP, or full development).

Instead of letting the end user run an unsupported option and receive the SYS1006 error message, I would like to identify their environment and display a message about the availability of each of these options as soon as the option is selected. How can I programatically identify the environment the application is running in?

For non-OEM OpenInsight for Workgroups, the function serial() will return a string starting with an "X" for runtimes or a "W" for development-capable licenses.
