I just upgraded from AREV 2.11 to 2.12 and can not access it from any account except SYSPROG. When I try to update all accounts I get an error "4" The account upgrade will be cancelled. Futher information seems to be "Captured" whatever that means. How do I get my other accounts working again?

Make sure that all "system" tables have dictionaries in the target accounts. Typically many will not. Log into AREV using account SYSPROG. Perform a Listmedia on REVBOOT first. Check each account for DICT.CAPTURED, etc. If any of these tables is missing a dictionary, do a FILECOPY with the DICT as the source/target. Next, perform a Listmedia on the subdirectories which contain the target accounts. Do the same thing, but don't attach the volume before the copy. Instead, use the full pathname to specify the Target. Make sure that the DICT.VOC of each account doesn't have an entry for FMT or this will make the account inaccessible. AREV 2.12 will also refuse to attach any file with an invalid dictionary element. Earlier versions didn't care. We have a temporary replacement for DICT.MFS that we use to get around the problem until the dictionaries are cleaned up. E-Mail me at DCMill1999@AOL.COM if you need a copy. u should make sure that you load a Language-Set (LND_DEFAULT is ok). You will then need to remove and reinstall all Quickdex/Rightdex on data files and dictionaries since AREV 2.12 will look at the default language set and will disallow reads / writes / deletes to the file if the Quickdex / Rightdex were not created properly. Also, you should remove and re-install all indexes.
