We are using;

    Novell 3.12
    Arev 2.11
    Windows 3.1 and Win95 clients
    Revelation NLM 1.12

Our problem:

I have clients that access a CD Tower on the LAN.

Other clients aren´t allow to enter. The ones that

are allow to, if they try to access the Arev appli

cation, they would get the message "attempt to…".

The users that aren´t allow to access the CD Tower

would enter with no problems.

I would appreciate your help.

Lope,

The problem probably is that your CD-ROM tower

does not support Logical Locking. Some brands do

not support this (they are based on a crippled

older Novell kernel).

You should isolate the CD server from your arev

system.

John,

Thank you for your advise. I think that it would be my first option. But, is there a standard procedure to do this. Right know i have those users that can´t make it to Arev login with two different User ID´s.

Your CD Tower cannot be based on Novell 2x shell. Look for a CD Tower that supports Logical Locking (which should be a selling point) or prevent your users from having access to the offending one.

Good luck!
