to limit to say 10 the number of currently active "submits" since

I don't want my backend database getting to many hits at one time.

This will be going thru an ODBC connection to a third party database.

Steve,

The OICGI itself is capable of receiving multiple simultaneous requests. However, OENGINE.EXE is single threaded and therefore OpenInsight will only accept one request at a time. Hence this is not the same as having 100+ local workstations making simultaneous queries. Web users get queued up and have to "wait their turn" so to speak. The only way to improve upon this is to invest in multiple OICGI servers or use a product like S/Web from Sprezzatura. I don't know if S/Web can be configured to limit the number of simultaneous accesses, but I wouldn't doubt it.

So, as it currently stands you don't have to worry about overloading your engine. However, you may now need to seek a more robust solution. It depends on the load you are anticipating.

Donald,

Do you have some news on the actual status of S/WEB?
