Link List Errors (AREV Specific)

I've read a lot of information regarding how to diagnose and correct link list errors but I still haven't found the right fix for my situation - so here are my particulars.
I'm running a 10-user system on AREV 2.12 on a Novell 4.11 server. The workstations are running NT 4.0. The NLM is the Advanced Netware 2.0. No dedicated indexer is being used. I?m not sure what the caching status is on the workstations or the server (not really sure how to check this for NT and Novell). The bat file that launches the application has the LHIPXTSR.EXE in it.
No link list errors are generated with only one user on the system (makes sense). With more than one user on the system link list errors happen periodically throughout the day on various files.
Thanks for any input you may have for me.

Can you confirm that you are getting locking? EDIT VOC LOCKTEST from two workstations and see if the second displays a "record in use by other user" message.

I've tried this test an it appears that NO locking is taking place. Multiple workstations can edit the same voc record without getting any message.

"Advanced Netware 2.0" is not an NLM. We'd suggest that you haven't installed the NLM correctly. Do you still have the install documentation?

A wonder you haven't corrupted all of your data files…
"NLM" and "Advanced Netware 2.0" are terms for two separate but coordinated concepts. The NLM runs only on the Novell Server. You should confirm that it is indeed running, at the server console. LHIPXTSR must be running at each workstation, as you say.
"Advanced Netware 2.0" is a Network Type for the Advanced Revelation program, which runs on the workstation, not the server. All workstations running the same copy of ARev use the same network type. In Arev 2.12 I think you access the user that can change the network type as AREV BUMP. Do this with only one user running ARev. In the dropdown list of network types you should find one named "IPX/Advanced NetWare v1.50" or similar. This should be chosen. It will coordinate with the server-based NLM.
Also, I would run a dedicated indexer with even 4 users. Use a discarded computer. Even if it runs only DOS.

That's interesting. When I do an AREV BUMP the the Advanced Netware 2.0 drv. shows up as an option. Is this not the NLM? Also, my client is attempting to locate their NLM install disk but doubts that they have it any longer. Is there any way to get another copy without having to purchae it again?

The Advanced Netware 2.0 is not the NLM. This is the driver for Netware/368 servers and higher. If you are using the 1.5 NLM, then you can download the driver from here. If not, send a message to support@revelation.com, and I'm sure they'll send you a new client.

The client side LHIPXTSR is version 1.5a - running on NT4.0. The server side LHIPXSER is version 1.5 - running on Novel 4.11. Since there is no record locking taking place my recommendation was to reload the NLM and check the settings. Unfortunately our client no longer has the Install disks. What would be causing the record locking not to be taking place if both the client and server pieces are installed? Is there enough difference between version 15.a and 1.5 to be causing this?
