Hello all:
Can anyone tell a Novell-guy-but-learning-NT-guy how to set-up the SYSTEM user according to page 3 of NT Service Installation Guide? Specifically, how do I get to the SYSTEM user from the NT Server console…?
After installing the NT Service the system runs (AREV 3.12 app) but is very slow… looking at the SYSTEM user seems to be the place to start.
TIA,
Mike O.

On the sharing tab (right click the folder and bring up properties) is a button for permissions. Make sure SYSTEM is in there.

Hello Aaron -
Right where you said it would be, thanks! One of those things that once you know how to do it…
Any other speed/optimization tips you can provide for running the NT Service? These folks just came off an older Novell server but it is (was) still much faster then their new NT system…
Thanks,
Mike

Only things I can really thing of are
Make sure there's no screen saver on[*]Balance the server for equal load sharing[*]Make sure background process has equal time to foreground ones[*]Remember it can't handle the same load as a Novell Server[*]Go back to NovellAlso, it's been suggested that instead of doing system, create a Revelation user instead and have the service log on as that user instead. However, to be honest, I had one site that this refused to work on.
