I am moving an AREV 3.12 installation for a client from a Novell Server to a Windows NT Server. I got a copy of the Linear Hash NT Service and Network Performance Pack. I installed the Service and the performance pack. I can sucessfully run AREV on the NT Server from another Windows NT client and from a Windows 95 client. On two Windows 98 clients AREV fails to run. On one, it gets as far as the blue background with the status bar on the bottom saying: "Initialization in process" and it hangs. The other one, it does not even that far before hanging. I have to kill the DOS prompt at that point. Both of these Windows 98 clients are Compaq Prosignia notebooks. We have both TCP/IP and IPX installed, although I have both installed on my NT client that works fine.

Anyone have any clues why AREV will NOT run on my Windows 98 machines?

Wonder if it has anything to do with the printer? By the time you get into intialisation, all FS actions should be completed.
