RLIST output not getting through to Windows 98 (OpenInsight 32-bit Specific)

I've taken a copy of OI 16-bit (2.6 and working fine), and upgraded it to OI 32-bit (4.0.2).
In the scenario where OI-32 is running on an MS-Windows 98se workstation, "RList" command output sent to the printer just disappears without error or trace. RList sent to screen, however, is normal. There are no error messages or invalid status indicated. Nothing ever appears in the print queue.
Same result if RList is invoked programmically or from the command prompt. Same result if the printer is networked or local.
Other OI-32 processes (i.e, Reporter) send to the default printer normally. The problem does not exist on later versions of Windows, or the 16-bit version of OI under Win98.
Any confirmation that others have encountered this problem, and any insight, solution or workaround would be appreciated.

Stephen,
Question of clarification:
1. What was the upgrade route of OI16 v2.6 to OI32, direct or via v3.6?
2. Why stop at OI32v 4.02, why not complete thru to 4.03?
Observation:
Seems the upgrade process has not been successful. Any system that I have upgraded thru from OI 3.6+ to 4.0x using release upgrades has been fine wrt RList. Only major issue at end of upgrade is attending to any custom DLL declarations - and most people would not have many or any.

Stephen,
First, what sort of printer? If it's an HP then try switching it to RAW mode.
Second, check that write-behind caching isn't active on the Win 98SE side.
Third, ensure that the OI is not running exclusive in Foreground (otherwise the spooler may get no CPU timeslice)
From DOS (try an
ECHO ^L]PRN
and see what you get. The ^L represents hitting CTRL-L and is the character CHAR(12), the formfeed character. You should see a page-eject from your printer after running this.

Stephen,
From the Preview does it print to the printer?
If you can print from there then it will also print directly.
Also enable all buttons on the preview window.
Printsetup=0
Seems you have lost the printer connection or the printer is in "ofline" mode.
Hope it helps.

I have experienced and documented this behavior. Joe at Revelation Software has confirmed this bug. I upgraded to 4.1 and no reports will now print. As reporter with 4.1 no longer works with 98se. I have not installed or used OIPI.
I tried turning off the write behind cashe but it made no difference.
Because I have no way to print the reports. I am stuck in a 16-bit world.

Thank you very much for responding.
In response to your replies:
G Van Niekerk - I believe you are referring to Revelation Reporter. Revelation Reporter is printing (and previewing) just fine.
RLIST (which IS the problem) output can be directed to printer or screen. If I direct to printer, the output simply disappears somewhere between OI and Win98. I can direct to screen just fine. If I run RLIST from the System Editor Execute Line, I can print to screen with output appearing in the results window, then print results window successfully. I just cannot direct RLIST output to the printer from either program or execute line.
The Sprezzatura Group - I have tried without success printing to an HP 8000 over the network, and a desktop Epson locally. I have tried all possible printer settings, including RAW. Disabling Write-behind caching made no difference. OI is not running exclusive in the foreground. Printing from DOS also works. I still do no know why RLIST does not work.
Richard Bright - The upgrade was neither direct not via 3.6. In a nutshell, the upgrade path from 2.6 to 4.0.2 (suggested by Revelation) was:
+ Install clean new OI 3.7.2, upgrade to 3.7.3, then to 3.7.4, then to 3.7.5.
+ Copy AppBackup subroutine in 3.7.5 to old OI 2.6, and backup 2.6 application.
+ Restore 2.6 application under 3.7.5.
+ Upgrade 3.7.5 to 4.0.2.
This works completely under Windows 2000 and XP, and works under Windows 98SE except for this RList problem.
I didn't realize there was a 4.0.3. I have upgraded to 4.0.3, but the problem persists.
There were no custom dlls to worry about.
Since I cannot find a solution to this problem - I am now forced to tell my client that they will need to upgrade hardware, O/S and OI simultaneously throughout their operation. Ouch!
