OI Install (OpenInsight Specific)

Since it is still early in CA, I'll ask another question, in your direction Don.
I instlled my OI 3.7.2 on my Dell P3 laptop and did my stuff. I wanted to put the whole thing onto the customer's Sony P2 notebook but it would not install and I forget the problem right now. Anyway, it was suggested that I use LapLink to transfer the directories, since there are no files storred in Windows, etc. This I did. When I start OI in development mode on the client's machine there is a difference.
On my PC I get Form Designer, UI Workspace, System Editor, Rev. Reporter, Database Mgr., & Table Builder.
On my client's notebook I get Form Designer, System Editor, C/S Workspace, Rev. Reporter, UI Workspace, & Deploy Application.
Have I somehow gotten into the RDK? The changes I have made as a result of the most recent postings have all been on the client's notebook. When I run the app as the customer will see it, it seems to work fine. Have I missed copying some 'hidden' system files?
Any opionons (I almost said insight again.
would be appreciated,
Roy

Roy,
The difference you see is because of the you did not copy the OINSIGHT.INI file from the Windows folder. If this is missing then OpenInsight will create its own file with generic entries. This accounts for the buttons your client's machine was displaying.
In your OINSIGHT.INI file you should see an entry similar to this:
Application Manager SideBarToolList=3,4,1,2,5,11Those numbers refer to the buttons themselves and in which order. Sprezzatura came out with a simple utility to select which buttons you want. Go to there website if you are interested. Otherwise you could experiment with different numbers. I forget all the button's numbers, although the above refer to Form Designer, System Editor, Database Manager, Table Builder, UI Workspace, and Deploy Application respectively.

I thought it would be something simple like that. Thanks again Don.

FYI - The format of the .ini parm has changed. It is now a 3 digit number. The original button group is code 258 and the second group is code 260. Changing the number did change the buttons shown. What the other 258 combos are, I don't have the slightest.

Roy,
The three digit number is a combo-code. Both ways work.
