Win2K workstation task scheduler question (AREV Specific)

I have a large number of AREV 3.12 tasks set up in my task scheduler on a Win2K workstation. As long as I keep my workstation logged in to the network, the tasks execute just fine at their appointed times.
If we have a brief power failure or my workstation is otherwise logged out (but still booted up, sitting at a ctrl-alt-del to login dialog), the tasks will not execute.
I was wondering if there were a way to establish some sort of "service" on the workstation that would not require me to be logged in, as long as the workstation was powered up and Win2K running. Not a huge deal, but would sure be helpful.
Thanks for any ideas,
Jim

Jim,
There have been several posts on this board about utilities that will let you run DOS apps as a service. The problem that I think you are going to have with ARev "services" is one of network access rights.
ARev does not like (cannot use?) UNC paths to run. This means it needs a mapped drive. However, if the task is running as a service, and no-one is logged in, then I don't believe it will have access to a mapped drive, and thus it won't work.
Perhaps another possibility is to use TweakUI and set up your "scheduler" machine to auto-login. This way, even after a power failure it will come back up and log in, and the mapped drive will be available.

Thanks, Matt. I had searched first and found those reference you mentioned, but I couldn't discern my answer from them.
You are right about the drive mapping situation, and I wasn't too hopeful there was a magic answer but…folks on this forum have been known to come up with some pretty creative things!
With all the old machines we have lying around, we'll probably just set one up in the data center on the big UPS and leave it logged in. May survey the office to see if anyone else uses the scheduler and migrate those tasks to this station.
Thanks for the input.

Jim,
I'm sorry that I'm not actually replying to your scheduler qwuestion. However, if you wouldn't mind giving me the 50 cent tour of how you are executing an AREV program from the scheduler I would appreciate it.
Thanks
