OI and AREV (OpenInsight Specific)

I am a novice to OpenInsight and testing the 30 day trial version to see if it will do what I want. I am trying to link AREV tables. I am using the database manager, but when it shows table type, all I see is "OpenInsight" listed. Is this the catagory I need to be in to add AREV table or should there be specifc "AREV" table types.
Down the road I want to use MS SQL 6.5 to view these tables. I know that OpenInsight can have a datasource that looks at SQL data, but can SQL tables be linked back to OpenInsight. If so would this be something that I would need to address with Microsoft or does any one know what steps I need to take to get SQL to look at my OI tables.
Thanks

Hello,
All you need to do to add the AREV tables indatabase manager is to go to the directory were they are kept.
The Data Warehousing wizard in the C/S workspace, can be used to send your LH data to SQL or any other
ODBC data source that you have 16 bit drivers for. I hope this helps.

A. Howard,
Try this…
If you go to tools, database mgr, file-add…
You will probably only see Table Type: OI
Under your Directories: & Drives: boxes (List/Dropdown) change your Location: to where your arev files are. (i.e. c:\arev\data)
If Oi sees any LinearHash files it will list them under Tables: you can then hit add]] or alias]] or all]] buttons. If any of your files have a "!" in front of them (ie.!CUSTOMERS), remove them from the Add Tables: box. Then click OK. Then back in the Database Manager window do Database-Save (or Ctrl+s) to update the DB Mgr. If you then click on the Openinsight Tables you should see the arev directory you selected. ?Under that should be the tables.
As a caveat, I would make sure that the table names do not have periods in them… (ie. SHIP.TO)
And that any dictinairy attributes names do not have any periods in them… (i.e. ENTER.DT)
Change them in arev first to "_" if you can.
