Net Use Problem (AREV Specific)

One workstation in a company gets a message "the net use command did not produce a file" as soon as she has logged in and put in her password. She is able to print to LPT 1, 2 or 3, with no problems. When I log in to her computer and go to the cmd prompt "net use" will give a list of everything attached, including the three printer ports. Same from any DOS prompt, unless I log into the Arev program, press F5 type in suspend, and at that DOS prompt type in net use, then I get a message that 'net' is not a recognized internal or external command.
Logging in from the command prompt, does not give the "net use did not produce a file" error, only when you use a shortcut.
I have tried making shortcuts to different batch files and get the same error message.
Any help appreciated, not a real problem, but annoying. Sorry, I forgot this is an 2002 Network, the workstation is 2000 and they have the latest Advanced Revelation NT/2000 Service and NPP installed.

Sounds to me that the developer of the system is caling NET USE to write a file which is then read to get some user and/or workstation configuration info. For some reason the file is not getting written, maybe. Do you know where this temporary file needs to be written to? Perhaps the workstation does not have access or rights to the folder. Is this the only Win2000 workstation?

…. seems like your PATH needs to be checked. Go to a DOS window and type path, record the results. Then go to TCL in Arev via the short cut and enter PC, then type PATH and compare the result. If they are different, the path is being set in whatever is called by the Arev shortcut, and needs changing…

Check the pif/shortcut for ARev on the workstation. Right click on the shortcut, pick properties. Click on the Program tab, click on the Advanced button. Make sure "Prevent MS-DOS-based programs from detecting Windows" is NOT checked.
