Keyboard Layout and Language Set (AREV Specific)

A UK clint has advised when an @ or an # character is entered using the keyboard the characters are not displayed correctly. This is due, we believe, to the layout of their UK keyboard.
Would the problem be resolved if we were to install the software, which uses Arev 3.12, with the English rather than the default character set?
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to load the appropriate code pages for the DOS environments.

Have you worked out why shen you run Arev from e.g. Win98, if it is run on full screen, it has the correct corner characters on a window (even the TCL line), yet if you and get the Windowised version, the wrong characters show up on the corners.
I know that it has nothing to do with code page as I have had two PCs set up with exactly the same autoexec & config.sys yet one gives the above anomoly, the other doesn't. I'm sure its in the dreaded registry but I haven't found where yet!

Claude,
When AREV isn't running in full screen mode, Windows uses the truetype fonts associated with Windows. These probably differ on both your PCs.
Backup all the font files on the "bad" machine, then overlay the ones from the machine where the ASCII line characters appear correctly. Ensure that the default language is set the same in each case.
Perhaps there' a UK versus a US/Oz setting somewhere in the Windows language/code page setup, or perhaps the fonts derive from different printer drivers or copies of Windows/MS Office/Word (say ones purchased in UK and ones purchased overseas?)
There's also the device=country.sys …. setting in config.sys to check/assert.

Nice to see you work weekends as well.
I'll give the font idea a go and report back my success.

Thanks for the info. I added the Country code to the config.sys file and the correct keyb info to the autoexec.bat file.
