We use our own DLL installer in our applications.

In the recent OIPI, is OLE2.REG.

This is copied to Windows\System as other DLLs are.

As it is a text file and not a DLL or OCX, what should we do with it?

It you execute it, it asks if you want to add it to the registry.

Is this OK, and if so, can this be done automatically without going via the prompt?

The reason we use our own installer is that we dont want to have the user install OIPI on every workstation just to get the DLLs there.

Suggestions most welcome.

Colin,

We do the very same thing for some of our apps. So far we've just treated OLE2.REG like the other DLLs, but we don't execute it or anything else. It's never been a problem for us.
