I am running Arev v 3.03 on Novell 3.11. Will I experience any problems upgrading to Novell 4.11?
Thank You in advance,
Steve.

Remember to flag *.* -T in your AREV directories. Transaction tracking is set "on" by default in Novell 4.x, but is off under 3.11
Some of the familiar Novell commands have changed, so consult your manual, or make batch files for the old command prefixes.
Use the Novell-derived intranetware client (version 2.2.0.0 is good) under Win 95.
Use NDS BIND as the network setup. Basically BIND is the same as 3.11 and NDS treats your whole system as a hierarchy of objects of various kinds (users, volumes, groups, queues, devices, etc.)

Steve,
There are a couple of things I can think of that you need to remember. The administration of 4.11 is a bit different and takes some getting used to. The printer setup is quite a bit different. I don't remember exactly how I managed to set it all up about a year ago, but it did not translate particularly easily. The 4.11 'equivalent' of FATFIX was, if I am not mistaken, called TURBODIS.NLM. The file from Novell's web site is TURBOD.EXE. If you have a problem finding it, let me know, I have a copy of it on my server (NT) in my office.

Steve,
I am not familiar with Novell at all. Where do I specify NDS BIND as the network setup, in Novell or somewhere in the Win95 network setup.
My Arev is currently using the Novell Netware driver.
I am having trouble accessing the network drive F: after arev logs on, is this at all related?
Thank You,
Steve

Thank You Eric.
What does FATFIX do in the first place?
I also am encountering the problem of not being able to access the drive I logged on to after entering AREV. For example the "DSPACE" function comes up with 0 bytes for the space argument.
In the win95 setup I am running Client for Novell Netware and Client for Microsoft Networks
Any ideas?
Thank You
Steve
