I'm creating my first multi-table window in PAINT. Hit a snag I need some help with.

I cannot add a prompt for a field in one of the "child" tables if that field is defined as multivalued. It doesn't even show up in the dictionary listing when trying to bind. The popup only shows the single-valued fields in the subsidiary tables.

I've searched the documentation (such as there is) and cannot find a restriction to this effect. Any ideas? Thanks!

Indeed, you canot do it with paint. You will have to write code and use collector windows to achieve this. In general, the multi-table window "built-in" thing is not terribly useful.

You're right. I was able to add the multivalued prompts as "unbound", and then used the editor to manipulate the WINDOWS record to forcibly "bind" them. That worked, until I tried to group them into an AMV group. Since that info in MT_WINDOW_COMMON% is not multi-table aware, it goes to hell from there.

Sigh… sure wish RevSoft would consider letting someone else get under the hood to create a 3.12A release. I can't imagine circumventing AREV bugs is a prime reason people might move to OI. I know our management would be more willing to put some money into a major 3.12 patch release than an OI conversion at this time.

Thanks for your help. Guess I'm off to cut some code now…
