Tabbed form freezing (OpenInsight 32-bit Specific)

Here is a crazy problem I am having with a form with several tabbed pages. I developed it under OI4 and used it with no problems even though it was 65k. I pushed it up to 77k under OI7. Ran like a charm but then, without no obvious reason, tabbing and navigating among controls became impossibly slow. I have tried the following without going faster.
- Using versions have about half the controls.
- Using the original OI4 version.
- Turning off the virus software or not having it scan the lk and ov files.
- Changing the OI network drivers.
- Running with only one user.
- Running with the developer version from another location but with the runtime engine.
- Write back cache disabled.
The only thing that helps is running with the developer engine and this runs without any hesitation. My network has a 2000 server, XP workstations, 100 M NIC's and switch. No other networked applications are slow. Defraging the server does not help. Running Spybot and Adaware did not help. All tcp/ip; no NETBUI. Changing the connections at the switch did not help.
Bill and the folks at Rev have looked at the problem and could not reproduce it on their network.
And once we solve this problem, I have another problem.
Desparate in Schaumburg!

Try setting the background indexing update to say 30 secs instead of default 5secs. I had a similar problem and this fixed my network overload with tcp requests.

Chris, preliminary testing shows that your suggestion works. I will let you know later if it holds up to heavier use. Thanks for the help.
I now remember this issue from Arev. Funny how history repeats itself.

Good deal!
At the risk of sounding like the guy at the auto dealership…
We had Bob's system in house, loaded it on the network, ran with and without the service, and were not able to duplicate the behavior in question.

Bill, I presume you used my 5 second default for checking indeces. Do your network use regular or intelligent switches? My network consultant has yet to find anything unusual about my network or helpful to resolving the problem.

Bob -
I installed your system as you sent it and did not change anything. All I did was run it as received.
I am told that our switches are intelligent.
I thought the mods suggested by Chris had showed some promise. What happened?

Chris and Bill, this fixed the problem. Once in a while, the system will freeze momentarily but we can live with that. Thanks for your help.
