I am installing an upgrade of the SQL Bond for Arev in order to attempt to connect to a SQL server on an NT box. I get an error message "Cannot read $input.char from verbs" when logging into our Arev installation as the INSTALL userid. Since I'm new to Arev, I'm at a loss on what to try.

Hi Barbara,

After reading your message, I checked my AREV environments again… in my production AREV 2.12 environment, I have the bond version 1.1 installed. In my AREV 3.12 test environment I have the newer bond (1.2) installed. If I remember correctly, something happened with $INPUT.CHAR when they went from 2.12 to 3.x. I'm pretty sure that when I was doing my testing with SQL 6.5 I connected from both environments. I think one difference between my environment and yours is that I have Windows 95 workstations and you have NT?

I'm really sorry for the confusion… I thought I had upgraded the bond in both environments… obviously I didn't. You might try searching this discussion forum for SQL Server 6.5… I remember a while back there were some discussions about it.
