AREV 3.12 & WIN NT Client's Expanded Memory (AREV Specific)

All new workstations being purchased by our company are recent NT models. They can access the application fine, but when typing "WHO" at TCL, you find out that "Expanded Memory" is InActive. My network admin. tells me that NT workstations can't be set in the same manner as WIN 95 or 98 where Expanded Memory=Active.
When running several reports from a huge file, the NT workstation breaks out - posting the error "out of String Space - not enough Memory". Both PC's have comparable "Available Memory" values; the only difference is the WIN 95 client has Expanded Memory=Active and the WIN NT client's is InActive.
I have limited knowledge of networking, and would appreciate someone telling me how to work around this problem - if in fact NT workstations cannot set Expanded Memory=Active.

Ed,
If you are loading ARev through a shortcut:
1) Right click on the icon.
2) Click on properties.
3) Select the memory tab.
4) Under the EMS setting (expanded), switch from auto/none to 4096.
This should give you memory=active.

Ed/Stephen,
I would wager that HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE are not being loaded in a CONFIG.SYS or CONFIG.NT file which is preventing Expanded memory from being available. Check your memory tab in the short-cut properties. If there is no option for Expanded memory then you will know for sure.

You must use a pif-file to get the memory tab on the shortcut.
The memory tab is NOT shown when starting from a batch-file.
Simply create a shortcut to arev.exe and a pif-file is created.
Set the ems-memory to 4096 and no xms (as usual)
