Does anyone know of a way to disable some users from using F2 to access other menus? Not in a form, but say on the main menu? I don't want to use the Security level ability for Menus unless I have to. Is there some Environmental switch I can use (@environ.keys) or such?

I would appreciate any input

The problem with using environment settings is that the keys trapped are global (Menus, Windows, etc.). Disabling the F2 key in menus will also disable it in windows and the TCL as well. I suppose you could write a fairly complex subroutine that would capture all instances of the F2 key and attempt to figger out what to do with based on the user and where they were. The problem would not be trivial to solve, though. You can certainly diddle the keystrokes that are acted on by changing / setting the ENVIRON.SET variables but this is a Global Variable which then must be checked everywhere.

Don;

 Yeah I kind of figured that - I could not see any easy way around it. Oh well, thanks for the input.

You can set an option on the menu (Standalone Menu) so that if TCL is disabled, this menu will not appear on the F2 list.
