I posted this a week ago at the end of an old thread, but it didn't get any attention there, so here it is as a new topic:

I'd really like to see the Protoview documentation for the edit table posted on the site. It's a crucial control and doesn't always behave like normal one's, and there are tantalizing hints that there's more you can do with it.

I can't find any docs on the Protoview site, indeed no mention there at all of Datatable version 2, which is what OI seems to incorporate. Since Revelation has licensed the product, there should be no copyright issues in reproducing the docs for it.

Here's a specific question:

I find that the edittable DBLCLK event no longer executes once any of CLICK, GOTFOCUS, or POSCHANGED event handlers are added. Is this part of edittable's normal, odd behavior, or am I misinterpreting something?

Can I recover functionality with the QUALIFY_EVENT message, and if so what are the codes that work with edittables (aside from 0x7B for right click, which has been documented)? None of the standard windows.h ID's seem to pertain.

Someone at RevSoft may correct me but I believe that when the control was licensed it didn't include exposing the API, hence the lack of documentation forthcoming from RevSoft.

As the DataTable is now version 4+ and is 5 years older it's not surprising to find no docs on their site. However, having said that you could see if you can get the docs for the current version and and work out what you can from that as it should be backwards compatible.

Bear in mind that the Protoview control is also sub-classed in OI (The Editbl class I think ) which acts as a 'filter' between PS and the DataTable, so this may 'interfere' with some functionality.
