XP & Novell (AREV Specific)

I have a report from Computer Technition that a Client site that is running Arev 2.12 under Novell (Small Business 5.1), is experiencing slow down problems with PCs that have been upgraded to XP Pro, when running reports that would be "selecting". Win98 Pcs are still OK as normal.
Any known problems in this area. XP settings?

Barry, it's a problem with the Windows XP timeslicing on AREV 2.12, and CPU utilization. (CPUPLUS territory )
Shoot me an email and I'll send you some notes on how to reconfig Windows shortcuts to improve the behaviour marginally. If that doesn't work we can discuss other possible ways forward.

Also occurred to me that it may be the Novell client version in use - is the LH.NLM loaded at that site?

If you are using the Netware Client see this thread http://www.revelation.com/__85256DB80017688B.nsf/0/6D7D32E3F6E0444485256DA200476EE0?Open&Highlight=0,harmacek
This slowed down our selects until corrected

In addition to the other suggestions, make sure the sort path is on your C drive and not on a Novell server. Windows 98 did not care about this, but windows 2000 and xp do.

That was one of the first things I changed.
I think I fond where the problem is (not Arev). Each pc W98 & Xp is connected for NT server and Novell server access. So I thought I would copy the Arev system to the NT system and see how it ran. In copying the files on the XP I thought it was taking an unusually long time, so I aborted, deleted the NT files and ran on the W98, ran 10 times faster. So, therfore it is not XP/Arev/Novell problem it is XP & Novell install/setup problem. So now it has been thrown back to the Hardware support people!!
