Had a bad crash, lost my hard drive. Restored arev from tape bu. Now it wont run. Says "unable to read SYSOBJ in media map. I restored it to the same disk id, "D:" and directory "arev" but it still wont run.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the REVMEDIA.LK and REVMEDIA.OV files. Use

the rdir.com utility from

which REVxxxxx.* files are actually SYSOBJ

Obvious things to check on tape restore:

1) Subdirectories selected and restored to original locations

2) Overwrite any existing files (or delete all existing files first)

3) Allow restore of read-only files (in case you marked AREV.EXE RO)

4) Restore .lk *AND* .ov portions of ARev files.

Also make sure any SUBST or networking mappings, if any are restored.
