I have several AREV files that I have been using for years in OI.

Recently I have needed to update the dictionaries in 2 of these

files. The files are in the AREV application AUDITING_APPS, but

attached from the AUDIT application in OI. Every time I edit these

dictionaries, then exit the OI table builder, the DICT.TEMP_FILENAMES

are not being deleted. The next time I try to edit the dictionary the

dictionary is "locked". Is there any dictionary records %…% or

other parameter that I can change to prevent this.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

Is there anything odd about these dictionaries? Are they in GLOBAL? Are they separated from their ! or data files? Any dots or other differences in their names?

Cameron,

No to all of the above. Although they were originally AREV files, they

were migrated to OI compatible way back… using "_" instead of dots.

The only main difference is they have a different application name,

"AUDITING_APPS" from my AREV application rather than the OI application name "AUDIT".

Thanks

Steve,

I am guessing that is what causes it. Just copy the REVMEDIA record from x*AUDITING_APPS to x*AUDIT (so you have an alias for both database names) and attach the appropriate one.
