Hi,

We are using an old version of AREV 2.1 and have a Sumit Software accounting application attached to the system.

A sales report that is generated by batching rep info from a profile that is AREV specific is batching every rep automatically as it should, except for a new rep that was recently added.

I need help with this and need ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a Developer copy of AREV or only a RUNTIME? If you have a developer copy, you should be able to use LH_VERIFY to analyze your tables for any errors. Usually you can determine whether an index is blown by trying the following:

Press F5 to get to TCL

Type DUMP and press

Look in the upper left corner to get the count of records. Write this down.

Press the key to leave DUMP. Don't do anything else.

Next type:

SELECT BY and press

Write down the number found. If it's not the same as the DUMP count +- 1 record, then the index is blown and must be rebuilt. The difference of 1 record is usually the %RECORDS% item if a QUICKDEX has been installed on the table.

The procedure to rebuild the INDEXES for a table is a little beyond the scope of a quickie post. If you're comfortable with AREV then go ahead. Otherwise, get a consultant to help.

Don,

Yes..we do have a developer's copy of AREV and the Sumit Accounting software. The accountant is pretty much convinced it's an indexing problem. I have rebuilt indexes for files, but not tables. Maybe with the help menu, and your help, we can identufy the problem.

Thanks very much…this gives me a good place to start. I'll try this when the accountant is here and let you know if we can identify errors and fix them. Monday wil be the next day that this process will be used. Thanks very much. Tom Reeves
