Printing bitmap creates large Windows spool file (OpenInsight 32-bit Specific)

Hi,
We are having problems printing a small logo image (160K) in the top left corner of an report in OpenInsight 32, where the image causes the spool file to grow exponentially to about 2 GB in size. This causes the printer to slow down and gets slower and slower as the job completes. Sometimes after this happens OIPI no longer responds to printing and nobody can print from the machine where this occurs. Printing from other Windows applications continues without a problem.
When the image printing is turned off for the same print run, the file is a manageable size, and the job prints OK with no adverse side effects.
Does anybody have a clue about this problem? Does image printing work under the best of times or is there a glitch in OIPI-32? Can the program use vector graphics to print (*.WMF, *.EMF, etc.)?
Please get back to me via email or the forum.
Thanks,
Brian Armstrong.

Brian,
We print BMP's of various sizes, some which are very large, using the OIPI32 without any problems. Are you setting the height and width to be very large by accident? You can try using the NoScale parameter to make sure this isn't happening.
You can print WMF files (EMF is not support AFAIK) but you will want to be careful to use the precise Width and Height in the correct proportion or the image will become distorted. If the WMF was designed with an embedded thumbnail you can extract the original scale to make sure your proportion is correct.

I have seen this a while back too.
I recall checking my printer settings as there was some changes there that may have caused it.
Perhaps try a different printer driver and see if it acts differently.
