RUNWin Utility (OpenInsight Specific)

I am using Runwin to perform a dos command.
eg xcopy d:\sample.bmp e:\files\123.bmp
The full path names are in the command, and I am trying to rename the file as well.
The Dos window always comes up asking for File or Directory. And it will not close automatically.
We used to be able to do this in AREV, can someone tell me how to do it in OI.
Thankyou

Deidre,
Try using the 'COMMAND /C ' switch before your Xcopy statement.

Create a batch file that does what you want. Then, create a shortcut to the batch file. In the shortcut properties, choose "Close on Exit". You can also choose "Run Minimized" if you don't want the window to be visible when it runs. Then, use Runwin to point the the name of the shortcut, not the name of the batch file. The shortcut always has an extenstion of .LNK This has worked fine for me.

using xcopy is more for wild card copy i.e.:xcopy d:\*.bmp e:\files\
for single file copy it is better to use the simple copy command, with the /b option if necessary. it won't argue with you.

Is there a reason why you want to use XCopy rather than an OpenInsight method for copying/renaming files?
