When you click on a row in an edit table, the line is blue with the current cell highlighted with a little yellow dotted line.

Is there any way to change this via a style, rather than specifically setting the cells background or foreground colour?

You can change the color programmatically, or change the windows color, outside of that I don't know of any simple ways to change the cell color in and edit table.
