Today (on a test server), we install a brand new Netware 5 and upgrade our Arev 3.12 with NLM 5.0.

before the SP2 was applied, we can access Arev (via the NLM). But after we applied the SP2, we got a message: "Unable to open boot media map".

This is the pertinent info:

- Workstation is using Windows 98

- Novell Client 3.1

- Arev LANPACK is showing (and using) IPX/Advanced Netware 1.50 (even after we upgraded to to NLM5.0).

- LHIPXTSR.exe is dated on 02-19-98 size 3,964bytes

- LH.NLM is dated on 8-13-98 size 52,226 bytes

- Arev subdirectory is flagged RW SH

- LHIPXTSR is loaded using "LXIPXTSR.EXE /P" before calling Arev.

- Frame Type is set to 802.2 (instead of Auto) in Win98

- IPX is binded to the Ethernet card (in the server)

What should I do next ?

Thanks,

Rudhy

Rudhy–

In the AREV shortcut properties under the Memory tab change the XMS setting to None. This should make the error go away. To check if the NLM is properly installed type edit systables voc at the TCL, if you see 6F's in a row on the bottom line the NLM is installed correctly.
