We are experiencing a peculiar problem. When using a front end application to query an OI database, not all entered information is displayed in the result set when an open ended query is used. There are a number of rows that are missing. However, if a specific query is used, the result set includes the record. It behaves like a filtering problem, but we cannot identify anything that is unique to the missing data. Perhaps there is a problem with the indexer?

If anyone can give us some guidance, we would greatly appreciate it. We are ending up with a good deal of duplicate information because our user base is re-entering data that they do not see in the table.

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

Make sure that if you:

  1. have a dedicated indexer, make sure the background indexing time in the Environment settings is set to 0.
  1. don't have a dedicated indexer, that the background indexing time is set to a non-zero value.

Also, see if the same problem occurs if you copy the data (w/program files) to a local drive and attempt to access the stubborn record ranges.

There are a few other suggestions I could make, but I'd need to know more about the setup: What client OS? What NetOS? Version numbers…
