We have a client on a Novell 5 network running AREV 3.12 (no NLM). From time to time they report that users are unable to start our application ie. they double click the icon and it brings up the AREV splash screen and freezes there.

They need to reboot the server to clear any stale connections which are holding files open, and then all is well until it happens again, and they have to reboot the server AGAIN.

This is a big inconvenience and they are wondering if anybody knows of a way to clear these stale connections without having to reboot the server? Apparently they can do this for other applications.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What network driver are you using inside AREV 3.12?

Guessing here,

This suggests that the STATION ID is being randomly assigned on each workstation every session - is @STATION identical on the one workstation every time you log in? If it isn't, and have not specified a hard-wired NIC address in the Windows Workstation Hardware setup, then try setting this.

You may also be able to set the "keep-workstation-connection-alive" period within the workstation setup parameters.
