We updated to OI3.6 and have encountered problems with SELECT, Tables in Form Designer etc.

We have tried to update with OI3.61 but it is rejected.

We have an old backup in OI3.5 which I assume with update directly to OI3.6.

However, we do not wish to lose all the development which has been done since the OI3.5 backup.

Is there any way we can upgrade the OI3.5 with the 3.61 upgrade and keep the development work?

If you run APPBACKUP from your OI 3.6 this will save all of your development work. Then once you get OI into 3.61 you can run APPBACKUP again to restore your development work from this backup. My advise is to make a DOS backup of everything before committing to this.

That being said, I would want to know why you are having problems with your 3.6. You want to make sure that this isn't a problem that already exists in your 3.5 version of OI and will only repeat itself.

The 3.6.1 upgrade can be applied to either 3.5 or 3.6 systems so if you move your system back to 3.5 you can apply the upgrade.

How do you mean that the upgrade to 3.6.1 is "rejected"?

I just upgraded from 3.5 to 3.6 to 3.6.1.

Next ran FIXVOL.

Next removed mirroring to run SCAN_REP

SCAN_REP removed hundreds of dependencies, now

most of my forms will not run, they want to create

temporary data files instead of using the working data files.

I have deleted all updated system and data and restored

everything back to 3.5

The version of the OI3.61 upgrade was from about a month ago.

I tried it several times on different copies of my system and each time was told to call RTI Support.

However, I have just downloaded the latest version of the OI3.6.1 upgrade and this has gone through.

I suspect that the earlier upgrade failed because I do not use the standard \revsoft directory. Eg:

   \xxx\oinsight

One other thing … the file may have been detached due to database synchronization … which is built into 3.61. If you create a test system (a copy of your 3.5) to test the 3.61 upgrade, can you check if your data tables are attached when you log in after upgrading?

No problem. SCAN_REP is a utility to help find synchronization and other errors in the repository that could prevent a successful RDK deployment for example.

Actually, I had loads of troubles downloading both 3.6 and 3.6.1 I has to download each component seperately for it to work. FWIW.
