Hi folks.. Long time no posting.. My OI project was suspended for a while, but I'm back in the saddle again..

The entry point for the system is an MDI Frame with a rather complex menu structure. For some reason, OI (v.4.0.2) will let me add items to the menu, but it won't let me call a stored procedure from the new items. When I add the quickevent to call the procedure and save the changes, when I bring it up again the changes are no longer there. However, I can bring up older menu items and make changes, save them, and all is well. I'm soooo confused :(

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

Michael,

Is your form based on a style sheet? It's been said style sheets increase the likelihood of problems with menus.

Or perhaps you've hit a limit on the size of menu information. I think there used to be a limit. I don't know if it's gone.

Michael,

I think Oystein made reference to the size limitation. What that concerns is the "Popup/Item ID" length in the Menu Builder. This can get very long, especially with menus that are nested very deep. You can modify this ID quite easily without changing the text of the menu that the end user sees. The overall length is around 35 characters so you will want to abbreviate where possible. Otherwise you get the effect that you are describing, i.e., the inability to launch menu procedures.
