While moving a clients data from one machine to another I noticed a 100 meg file where I did not expect to find many large files. On further investigation it turned out that the file in question was the SYSTEMP file. Since this file contained lists which related to data some 4/5 years old it would appear that this file at least is not being cleared by the system. It would semm to me that temporary files created by the system should be cleared by the system, if this is NOT SO then perhaps the documentation should advise users which files can be safely cleared on a regular basis. Do any other developers have any information regarding the clearing of temporary system files. Any information, on the forum or email would be appreciated.

Use the search facility of this forum to get more detail from previous posts. In summary, though, it is OK to clear the file if no users are logged on.
