The motherboard on my desktop failed recently and Windows XP had to be reinstalled. Now OI screens (OI version 9.1.1) run quite slowly. Certainly in comparison with a copy of the system on the laptop which uses Windows 7 and is 2 years old. Should I reregister any components. I have run Clientsetup which appeared to run successfully. Anything else I should do? The motherboard was fitted with a faster processor than before so I was hoping for great things.

Is it s display problem sluggishness or a code execution slowdown? What does Task Manager show?

Sounds like a graphics driver issue or your video card is set to compatibility mode instead of performance.

How do flash and YouTube videos display?

There aren't any OI components that would cause this type of problem and running clientsetup.exe would configure the workstation for use.

I think Jared is correct. You may need to download some video driver. We've seen this when we had to reinstall XP on an HP notebook. After going to HP and downloading the video driver, the system worked as it should.

Thanks Jared. That's exactly what I needed to know. I will now investigate the video display setups. And look into some of the slow running code on a couple of the windows that are running slowly.

Thanks Ray - looks as if you too had this problem in a similar situation. I was concerned that I had to re-register some of those dlls. As you say Jared is on the money with this. John

Eventually found the answer to this problem. Set the BITMAP Window state under the WINDOW properties from RESIZE TO TILED. Then goes from Snail speed to Warp speed. Problem reproduced when I give the Background colour a gradient. So cannot use Gradient feature.

Anyone know why?
