Created a new layout for a client on site. Deployed report layout to maintain global set. Installed layout deployment on development system using RDKINSTALL. When subsequently trying to open the report layout in Reporter for minor modifications, received the error "External Repository File Error". Could not open report. If anyone knows what would cause this error, please assist.

Complete guess, but it could be that this report happened to have been stored in a DOS file and the file was not moved with the deployment or it was placed in the wrong place. The repository entity at the deployed site should be able to give info.

I have seen this happen when the report is over 64k. It has nothing to do with how the report was moved. For some reason if you look at the properties of the report, sub-key has a path where it thinks the report resides. If you are using the application as a true network version where the application is never printing off of the surver than just make sure that the pathed drive letter is the same for all workstations and you will be fine.
