Hi Guys,

I am wondering if it is possible to create entities (in this case, text labels and edit tables) on the fly using code? I know that it is possible to create menus and windows on the fly using the Utility command, but I have been unable to find anything to support entity creation on the fly.

Any help would be appreciated,

Andrew Matthews.

Assuming you are using a development copy not a runtime then yes - utility CREATE.

Andrew,

An alternative might be to make all the edit tables and statics you need at design time, but invisible. Then at runtime set their sizes and styles and texts and stuff, and make them visible. I know this simplistic method won't fit all scenarios, but at least there's a practical limit to how many controls you can have in a window; you don't need an endless supply.

Yes, as Sprezz say, Utility Create does this.

I have found the best way to do this is to place a control on the form.

At run time, make the control invisible.

You can then use this control as the basis for other instances of the control, and using the size property locate them where you want.

My other posting on the drag/drop uses this method as well.
