We have a site which is running Novell 5 without the NLM using AREV 3.12. They have a problem with too many users logging in error message coming up when not all of the users are logged in.

When they review there network connections it shows lots of connections far in excess of the number of users they have licences for. Lots of these connections are stale but some of these are still holding the licence.

Any advise on how to stop getting these stale connections or any easy way to clear them. At times they have had to reboot the server which affects lots of users on other applications (ie 1000+ users).

I can possibly build you a utility to do this from the workstation - what AREV network driver are you using? What protocol operates

on the workstations?

I'm facing the same situation…NetWare 5 server, AREV without NLM, compounded with Windows 2000 Professional on workstations with Novell's v4.7 client.
