I have recently finished developing an alpha version of my application. I used rdk to create a run-time application. I have found three problems.

1) CTL3D.DLL cannot be found (this is easily taken care of by copying the file to the windows\system directory on the new computer)

2) When the application runs for the first time, I have it ask for the location of the AREV data files to attach to. I then use the Attach_Table subroutine and the Define_Database subroutine to save the location of the data. Somewhere in here OIWG v3.4 errors out. If I use the development version of the oengine.exe then it runs fine.

3) After copying the CTL3D.DLL to the system directory and replacing the oengine.exe with the development version, I get an sys1000 error about being unable to execute Start_MDIchild.

I developed the application in windows95 and I am trying to run it in a windows 3.1 system that has never seen OpenInsight. Does anyone have any "Insights" as to why I get these errors?

You might want to add this to the repository or find a way to incorporate the client install portion of the OI Install disks into your installation.

Again, you'll have to modify the installation, and have this as part of the install process. While the RDKUPGRADE process is running, you should be able to do the manipulations needed.

Not sure, unless START_MDICHILD was not in the repository or somehow was not copied. Have you validated it existed in the repository and in SYSOBJ?
