I've seen some references to RoboHELP after doing a search entry for "context-sensitive" help. Is Robo the help authoring tool of choice, or are there better options for OI developers? Thanks!

Mark,

I think you will find RoboHelp is the tool of choice. We've used it and it works very well with OI.

Thanks, Don.

I received a brochure from eHelp (Blue Sky) two days ago. It looks like a pretty nifty product. For the price, it had better be.

We use Doc2Hlp, which bases the original document on Word 97 and then compiles into HLP files.

Possible areas for concern:

Need to be careful with compiling 32bit HLP files as OI runs these as 16 bit, as far as I can see.

The HPJ file created has the context mappings.

Make sure you dont rebuild these otherwise all your links will be out.

We have had problems with Word 97 with screen dumps resizing themelves whenever Word thinks it is a good time.

Some problems with very large manuals (eg around 1000 pages).

If I had a chance again (which I will) I would NOT have chosen Doc2Hlp, however the later version seems like a possibility.
