I am working with a client that has Advanced Revelation v2.1. The application they are using was developed some time ago. They are using a Novell 3.12 server, Windows 95 clients with the MS Client for NetWare, and the newer NLM; the NLM was installed recently. Everything is working great and fast except anytime they print from the Arev application, they get a blank page BEFORE every job. This does not happen from any other application they use, i.e., Word Perfect 5.1 DOS and MS Office 95. I talked with a person that is very familiar with Arev and he had me send a print job to a file. There was indeed a form feed at the beginning of the job. They use ALT-P to print from Arev. It basically prints whatever is on the screen. No macros have been assigned according to this person I talked to. I know very little about Arev. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This Arev person said it would take 4-8 hours to resolve this problem. Please help. Thank you for your time.

ARev generally sends a form feed before all print jobs. You could write code to strip it out. I usually just put the blank sheets back into the printer.

Rev has always sent a form feed before it starts printing and strands the last page of a report in the printer.

An (E) option may be used to suppress that first in an R/List report (or the AREV equivalent). That is, as long as the program isn't doing its own printing control. Commands look like:

LIST filename {along with other stuff} (PE)
You can also set the (E) globally by using the SET-OPTION command. It even works, sometimes.

The last page is still stranded.

Much Luck,
