SAP Filtering With NT (AREV Specific)

In a response about GFE's when running AREV through a switch after installing the Revelation NT Service, Victor Engle thought that SAP filtering might be an issue for me. Does anyone know what settings would be correct for the SAP filtering. I'm not familiar with switches and routers. The switch belongs to and is maintained by Computer Support Services. I spoke with the vendor who provided us with the switch and he thought that the switch had SAP filtering on it but didn't know if it was turned off or on. I haven't been able to contact CSS due to the Veterans Day holiday.

Ed: Often routers will be configured to mask out SAP broadcast messages. This can prevent a lot of traffic on a network with a large number of servers.
Yours should be configured to allow SAP number 0x5B8 to get through. This is the SAP number for the Revelation NLM.
How this is done depends on your specific router. I suspect the company that services your network will know how to do this, if you will provide them with this number.

Sorry, Ed. That's what I get for checking in here before my first coffee!
Just noticed that you have the NT service, not the Netware NLM. Maybe this will still apply, though. Hope I didn't add to the confusion too much.

Ed-
In confirmation of Jim's 2nd response to you, don't
worry about SAP filtering if you're using the NT
Service.
If you've already installed it, and the service is
running, and you are using a REVPARAM file with at
least the line ServerOnly=True, and everything appears
to be running, you're all set.
