Hi,

A client of mine has just reported the following error for the second time over the past 3 days:

Fatal Error Reading DRIVERTABLE in Table SYSNETWORKS FS1105

Error number 1102 returned during RCL request reply.

They are running ARev 3.1 on a Windows 2000 Network with the 2000 Service v2.1 using Named Pipes. The network driver is the All Networks Driver. The workstation in question is running Windows XP Pro on a 2 week-old Compaq EVO. All the workstations were upgraded about 2 weeks ago to identical machines and this is the only one that has encountered this error.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Gray Cunningham

Gray,

Error number 1102 is "RCL Client named pipe write error", which means that when the NPP wrote a request on the named pipe to the server if failed.
If everybody is running XP (or NT), then you could use the Thunk driver instead. This is essentially the same NPP driver, but all of the processing is done in a 32-bit dll, rather than in 16-bit DOS. This would also allow you to use TCP/IP, which is faster and seems to be less prone to errors like the one you are encountering.

Thanks Pat.

I was wondering if changing to Named Pipes -] TCP/IP would help. As the workstation upgrade only recently took place, we didn't want to make too many changes all at once. Looks like I have something new to try on Monday . Ultimately, we will be converting the Arev software to OI, which was part of the basis for the decision to upgrade the workstation hardware.
