Has anyone managed to install the NT Service 1.5 on the above server?

A client of ours has just moved from NT 4 to SBS 2000 and can't run the setup.exe from the NT Service disk. Their IT support company have tried installing on identical hardware running Win2K server with no problems but the setup.exe just hangs with no error msg on SBS 2k. Any help greatly appreciated. Is there anyway that the service can be installed manually without running the setup.exe?

TIA

Don,

Install it on the Win2K box and then copy all the contents of the created directory to the SBS box. Once it is on that box, open a Command Prompt Window (or whatever MS decided to call it on that platform) and change to the directory with the NT Service. Then invoke LHSRVC with no parameters and it will give you a usage screen. What you want to do is the "install" option.

You should have no problem w/SBS2000 and NT Services. FWIW, we were running 1.5 until we recently upgraded to Windows 2000 Service 2.x.

Offhand I don't recall doing anything special. We just installed it and it worked.
