I'm really in a bind here, our program is reporting a Group Calculation Error trying to write a particular record. When I dump the file and bring up the affected group, it looks fine. I've tried CTRL-F'ing the group, I've tried copying the REV file to a new name and then renaming it. I can SELECT the file without any problems.

The only thing I haven't tried is to copy all the records to a new file from within AREV, but the file has over 2 million records and takes up nearly 200 megs between the .LK and .OV files. Such a procedure could literally take a full day to complete. If this is what needs to happen then so be it, but I'm hoping I don't have to bring this customer completely down for that length of time. Anything else I can try?

If dump reports no problems for the affected group, I suggest this:

1) Set sizelock to 2.

2) Dump file and go to affected group. Note keys of records in affected group (they are highlighted).

3) Create a temporary file.

4) Copy records noted to the temporary file.

5) Delete the same records from the productional file.

6) Go back into DUMP and check out the group. It should now be empty.

7) Do a copy from the temporary file back to the productional file.

8) Reset sizelock, delete temporary file.

If you get errors in step #4, try to continue anyway. Then before step #5, use dump to determine how many records you lost.
