Hi There,

I got a problem with 32 bit oi. The danish char set is changed from 3.7 to 4.1.1

In the menus the danish letters "æ" "ø" and "å" is changed to new letters.

It's the same in forms heading.

Why ?

Anders,

It's because OI 4.1x by default thinks your app and data is encoded in Unicode - UTF8 to be more precise. There is an /ANSI switch you can use to force OI 4.1x to behave like before. Put the switch in the command line of the shortcut you use to start OpenInsight.

But perhaps Unicode is what you want? I do. I want my clients to be able to use characters like " " without the app running that (in my opinion) dodgy bi-directional CHARMAP. I want my clients to be able to enter non-Latin-1 characters like Sami characters. Etc.

But if you've got an existing ANSI-based app like you and me then all app and data rows must be converted to Unicode before the app will work in OI 4.1x. OI 4.1x has got an ANSI_UTF8 conversion function but I don't think there's a tool yet to do the whole conversion automatically.
